GAHA League ‘A’ 2024 Throws Off After Long-Awaited Start

After a long and eagerly anticipated wait, the Greater Accra Handball Association (GAHA) has officially announced the fixtures for the first game week of the GAHA League ‘A’ 2024.

The league, which promises exciting handball action, will commence at the Prisons Court on Friday, 31st May 2024, with the first match starting at 8 am.

Originally, the organizers, with support from the Handball Association of Ghana (HAG), planned to use the Borteyman Multipurpose Hall as the venue. However, due to unforeseen challenges, they were unable to secure the facility, resulting in a three-week delay to the league’s start.

Despite these initial setbacks, enthusiasm remains high among teams and fans. Weather permitting, the opening day is expected to be a thrilling start to the season, provided that the sun cooperates and the rain stays away.

The first game week features a packed schedule with eight matches, as both women’s and men’s teams will take to the court. The fixtures are as follows:

  • Police HC vs Army HC (women & men)
  • Fire HC vs Navy HC (women & men)
  • Prisons HC vs Air Force HC (women & men)
  • Cantonment Youth HC vs El Wak Wings HC (women & men)

Each matchup promises intense competition as teams vie for an early advantage in the league standings. Fans can look forward to a full day of handball, showcasing the talent and skill within the Greater Accra region.
